School Dinners
The school provides a hot meal service that includes a main meal, vegetarian or jacket potato option each day. Menus are planned to achieve a balanced diet and are a mixture of traditional favourites with a few new experiences thrown in every so often! A salad bar is provided to enable the children to supplement their meals with extra healthy options. Throughout the year, the kitchen team organise special themed days. We also invite family members in for occasions such as Mothers’ Day and Fathers’ Day.
Children are welcome to bring in a packed lunch if you would prefer. Please keep the lunches healthy and make sure that none of the items you send in contain nuts. There are some great ideas for healthy lunches on this website: https://www.nhs.uk/change4life/recipes/healthier-lunchboxes
The system for ordering and paying for meals is all done online. If you are not yet signed up for this, please contact the office team who will get everything sorted. Meals are free for children in Foundation Stage, Year 1 and Year 2, along with anyone throughout the school qualifying for a free school dinner. For those paying for a meal, the cost is currently £2.35.
We cater for a variety of dietary needs, so it is really important that the school is kept informed of any food allergies your child may have. Please check with the office that they hold the correct information.
